GRACE COMMUNITY CHURCH
Love. Grace. Justice.
THE STORY OF GRACE
Historic Roots. Fresh Beginnings.
In 1908 a group of New Orleanians came together to establish the foundations of what would become Grace. For more than a century the ministry of Grace has served the Bywater and Upper 9th Ward both spiritually and physically. In 2018 the members recognized the need for a fresh beginning that would position Grace to continue serving their city throughout the 21st Century. Grace Community Church, in partnership with Canal Street Church, is a new church for the Bywater, built upon the foundation of faithfulness and focused on making "Good News" become tangible to our neighborhood and city.

OUR BELIEFS
Our Affirmations
We affirm the centrality of the word of God.
We affirm the necessity of the new birth.
We affirm a commitment to the whole mission of the church.
We affirm the church as a fellowship of believers.
We affirm a conscious dependence on the Holy Spirit.
We affirm the reality of freedom in Christ.
The Apostles' Creed
I believe in God, the Father Almighty,
creator of heaven and earth.
I believe in Jesus Christ, his only Son, our Lord,
who was conceived by the Holy Spirit,
born of the Virgin Mary,
suffered under Pontius Pilate,
was crucified, died, and was buried;
he descended to the dead.
On the third day he rose again;
he ascended into heaven,
is seated at the right hand of the Father,
and will come again to judge the living and the dead.
I believe in the Holy Spirit,
the holy catholic church,
the communion of saints,
the forgiveness of sins,
the resurrection of the body,
and the life everlasting. Amen.
MEET OUR TEAM
HOW TO PARTICIPATE AT GRACE
We would love to have you participate in the life of what's happening at Grace. We host weekly services beginning at 10AM. Our model of Church holds both the importance of "Gathering" in Sunday Services and "Scattering" out to be a blessing to our community. Through what we call Missional Communities, smaller groups of people spend time together learning the scriptures, caring for each other and engaging in God's mission in their daily lives. We also have church-wide service projects that join with other organizations to make an impact. Feel free to drop us a line in order to connect with any of these avenues of participation.

MISSIO MOSAIC
Our Mosaic Church Family
Grace is gladly a part of the Missio Mosaic Network of New Orleans. Missio Mosaic is a mission of churches and individuals who work together for the furtherance of the gospel through urban, multicultural, and convergence ministry. This network was birthed out of the ministry of Canal Street Church in Mid-City which hosts our central offices. We envision a city with more Jesus Followers, in more neighborhoods, in a more just and caring world, all for the greater glory of God. Grace is a "parish" church of Missio Mosaic. Parish churches like Canal and Grace share resources, staff, and values with the goal of seeing our city become more like the Kingdom of God. Our hope and prayer is "In New Orleans as it is in Heaven".
